Responsibilities: As well as Managing Director Richard also has two other areas of responsibility namely managing supplier relationships and leading the Engineering & Support technical team. 

Richard founded his own company, in 1999 before merging to form Quasar Systems Limited in 2007. Richard has over 20 years experience in the Electrical industry. He is a factory-qualified SCADA System Integrator, a factory-trained ION Administrator – Level II, and a highly skilled & respected ION Technology innovator.

Keith Hitchings

Director - Sales & Marketing 

Responsibilities: Keith has moved from his previous role as Managing Director with Quasar to leading the Sales and Marketing team.

Founder of Quasar Electronics Limited in 1983, Keith has over 40 year’s industrial automation experience. He holds NZ Institute of Management, ION Fundamentals, and ION Administrator Level II certification, and is a ‘Fellow’ of the Institute of Measurement & Control of New Zealand Inc. 

Michael Schwass

Director - Finance & Administration

Responsibilities:  Michael holds the position of Chairman of the Board while also taking responsibility for all financial, administrative and HR aspects of the company as well as the formal Company Secretary role.

With over 25 years’ experience as an Accountant Michael first held various roles as a CA through what is now known as KPMG, his specialist field being Business Advisory and IT systems for small to medium sized businesses.  He then moved out of on his own establishing a specialist software company, Synergy Business Systems, a Computer company and undertaking various Property Development projects.  More recently Michael has focussed on leading and developing two large social service organisation, providing strategic leadership to those enterprises and along the way gaining qualifications in leadership development and mentoring. 

Quasar Staff

Responsibilities: Financial and Company administration. Human resources

Bronwyn has over 28 years experience in company administration particularly in stock control & management, purchasing and finance. Her previous roles have also given her hands on experience in human resources and staff management.

Responsibilities: Office administration, sales support for clients and suppliers, web development and marketing.

Cristene has a strong administration background. She brings a professional, friendly manner and wealth of experience in the field of business administration to this role. Cristene holds a Degree in Business Innovation & Enterprise, and a Graduate Diploma in Events Management & Marketing

Alister Brunsden

Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities: Design and development of SCADA/HMI and revenue/power quality metering systems. Perform system testing, and commissioning, documentation and provide training courses. Alister also oversees the provision of customer support.

Alister joins Quasar from his most recent role as a Software Engineer involved in PLC programming and SCADA & HMI projects in the Electrical Engineering industry. Prior to this he was a Technical Services Manager supporting clients around New Zealand. Alister holds a degree in Commerce majoring in IT. He also holds Electrical Services Technician Certification A & B

Eric Tjiptadjaja

Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities: Design and development of SCADA/HMI and revenue/power quality metering systems. Perform system testing, and commissioning, documentation and provide training courses.
 

Eric is a factory-qualified SCADA System Integrator highly experienced in Survalent SCADA & HMI, ION metering systems, and related IT communication technologies. He has over 15 years industry experience and holds an Electrical Engineering Degree majoring in Control and Computing. His previous positions range from Computer Tutor to IT Engineer, then IT Manager, before joining Quasar. One of Eric’s many accomplishments is the role of Project Manager of the power utility SCADA system for Bali, Indonesia       

Arneil Dalope
Application Engineer

Responsibilities: Modify, enhance & expand customer systems and assist with Quasar's customer support activities.
 

Arneil joins the team from his most recent role as Solutions Engineer (Energy Efficiency) at Schneider Electric Philippines. He has a wealth of experience in power metering and energy management systems and audits. Prior to this Arneil was with Meralco Energy and First Electro Dynamics in the Philippines. Arneil holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology (Philippines) and gained the qualification of Master Electrician from the Professional Regulatory Commission (Philippines).
