Quasar's recent major upgrade of its IT Infrastructure included the addition of Blade Servers and Microsoft's EBS (Essential Business Server), Microsoft's new operating system. This new multi server configuration system created by Datasouth in collaboration with Quasar is the first in the the South Island, and among the very first installs of its kind in New Zealand.
For Quasar, as a leading supplier and integrator of advanced energy & power quality monitoring, supervisory control & data acquisition (SCADA), and industrial automation systems, investing in this upgrade means that we are able to provide clients with secure technical support, at any time, from any place. This investment also aligns with Quasar's assurance of continually evolving with technology to meet industry requirements and our customers' needs.
An integral part of our day to day operations at Quasar is the utilisation of remote access technologies to many of our customers' sites. As such, our functionality and security requirements presented Datasouth with some unique challenges to resolve, requiring them to think well outside the box.
As a result of this partnership, Datasouth has landed huge industry accolades for winning the following two categories at the 2009 Microsoft Partner Awards:
