In 1996, Richard met Keith Hitchings (the founder of Quasar Electronics) at a trade show. Richard's interest in the Power Measurement products that Quasar supplied drove him to learn all he could about these products. This developed into a such a strong interest that he set up his own company to help Quasar integrate these metering solutions. In 2007, Richard merged his company with Quasar Electronics to become the Quasar Systems that we have today.
The possibilities that energy and power quality data have for transforming businesses is what really motivates Richard. He looks forward to see what the future holds for energy management in New Zealand with so many emerging technologies coming to the fold.
On the weekends, Richard is usually tearing up some remote valley track on his adventure motorcycle. If Richard could invite anyone (living, deceased or imaginary) to a dinner party, he’d invite Elon Musk, Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla (and a translator).
The most unique place Eric’s travelled to: an offshore drilling platform. Sometimes a bit boring but consider how many people will ever have a chance to go there.
