Energy Management has always been a key focus of mine but without a dedicated resource it had often taken a back seat to everyday demands. As a company we knew that in order to stay competitive we needed to get into a position where we were measuring and actively controlling our electricity use in a consistent manner across all of our sites while not compromising operations.
We looked at various software options and visited companies in Europe that were leading the industry in active energy shedding and load shifting. I can honestly say that the package that Quasar Systems offer is among the best I have seen at a price point well below the others, the feature-set is impressive and the user friendly style of the programme means that I can easily make the changes I need to make without the help of an “expert”. I can now manage our energy use without needing to appoint a dedicated person. As a nationwide company a key feature of the software is that the Enterprise Edition aggregates the data from all our sites into one central package, that saves my time and allows for some powerful reports for both our engineering team as well as our senior management. The reporting features of the software are impressive, I used to spend hours getting my energy data collated each month and now I receive a summary email from the software on Monday morning before I even reach work. The software is a pleasure to use and has put me in control of my company’s energy bill in a comprehensive way. I have been using Quasar Control since 2013 and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone serious about reducing their energy costs. |

The ever increasing cost of electricity is a significant burden on most New Zealand businesses, so how can anyone look past an efficiency project with less than a 24 month payback?
We have always done our best to control our plants efficiently and install energy saving solutions such as LED lighting, but in order to truly reduce our energy costs, we knew we had to take the next step, that is to control our plants so that they were only running when absolutely needed. I was pleased that a product existed in NZ to exactly meet our needs and that all I needed to do was spend some time explaining our operation and leave the rest to the installation team. I recommend to any manager to opt for the fully maintained package, I now feel like I have a dedicated energy manager on staff and it doesn't take more than a phone call or email to change parameters. I feel like I am in safe hands, we have never put product at risk and have saved thousands of dollars each month and best of all, I don't have to commit much of my time to the process. Quasar Control and the service provider Vertex, who installed the system and now manage it on our behalf, have been very professional from the start of this project and I cannot speak highly enough of the total package presented and the continued support we receive. |

Aotea Electric have recently completed the electrical works on the Wanaka Aquatic Centre where Quasar Systems were the suppliers of a Monitored Metering System to manage the power usage within.
From the moment I sent the purchase order, we had good clear communication from the Christchurch based team. This type of work always has its challenges, but the Quasar Team had no issue working through the various obstacles that arose, from communicating with the IT department through to providing trouble shooting advice for our onsite electricians.
