2019 at Quasar

2019 has once again been a busy year for the Quasar team. We’ve undertaken projects for clients across New Zealand and Australia and we have enjoyed creating customised systems for a variety of clients across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, accommodation, electricity and retail. We were also delighted to receive a Schneider Electric EcoXpert Technical Innovation Award, for our Rapid Capture and Control (RCC) application.

Product Updates

PME2020
Schneider Electric have just released the latest version of their Power Monitoring Expert software. PME2020 has a number of new features including a dark mode option for the interface, a notification engine for alarms (via email or text message) and improved power quality features including Load Loss Detection, PQ tolerance and High Speed Transient Captures.

IM500
The IM500 industrial IoT module from Systems with Intelligence monitors and collects asset health data from remote sites. Its dual thermal and visual camera offers thermal monitoring with onboard analytics to detect anomalies and provide automatic warnings and provides situational awareness in remote locations.

Survalent SurvCentral
We have recently completed a project with a customer to deliver information from their substations to the Grid. We used Survalent SurvCentral to convert DNP3 to Secure ICCP to serve up data to the Grid. When receiving the data back, we then converted it to OPC for use in the substation SCADA. This project was completed in accordance with a rigorous testing process, and has recently gone live. We see this as a standard and repeatable project to benefit distribution companies across New Zealand

SurvalentONE OMS
This product has recently been implemented by one of New Zealand’s electricity distribution companies and they
are seeing great results. SurvalentONE OMS allows them to respond faster to outages, reducing their duration and effect on customers. It provides predictive outage analysis to help isolate the extent of the outage and probable fault location as well as enhanced customer communication capabilities to provide up-to-date outage
information to stakeholders.
